This  511 penetrating sealer designed to protect stone surfaces. It forms an invisible barrier that resists stains while allowing vapor to escape.

Some of the names which are given to this product are; sealer, impregnator, and penetrating sealer. It is a thin liquid, which penetrate the stone. Its purpose is to block contaminants from entering the marble, terrazzo stone. It is not a surface coating and will not alter the natural look of the stone or grout. It will make the surface less slippery. However, this product cannot resist acid stain. Therefore it is not a substitute for good housekeeping practices and spills should be wiped up as soon as possible.

We stock solvent based and water based sealers. The solvent or water is the carrier, which takes the active chemicals into the stone. As the carrier evaporates the active ingredients are left in the stone to do their job. Generally, we believe that solvent-based sealers are better, however due to health and safety regulations we are not always able to use these it.

Sealing the grout.

Only the cement type of grout should be protected. Epoxy grout needs no protection. How to tell epoxy from cement? The cement-based grout is noticeably porous. It will readily soak up water and will bubble when tested with a mild acid such as Muriatic acid. The epoxy grout is smooth and won’t soak up water or sealer.
