3 Reasons to Keep Rubber Tires and Carts Off Commercial Floors

3 Reasons to Keep Rubber Tires and Carts Off Commercial FloorsOf course, not every commercial floor surface is going to be the same, but for many of them it’s best to keep hand carts, hard rubber or even soft rubber machines off those commercial surfaces. There are many reasons for this, and we highlight three of the most significant ones here.

Reason #1: The soft rubber can get left behind.

You’ve probably noticed this before. A soft tired rubber wheel pivots along the commercial floor, whether it’s on linoleum, ceramic tile, or even polished concrete, and leaves residue behind. It may be in the form of a dark streak or something else, but under hot conditions and high humidity, that little bit of rubber that gets transferred onto the commercial floor surface can become like goo, for lack of better word. That can make it much more difficult to get up.

Reason #2: Most people don’t care about commercial floors like the owners do.

Delivery companies, office personnel, and more are in a hurry and don’t really pay much attention to the potential damage the carts could be causing the floor surface. They may overload the cart as a way to save time as they run from a delivery truck to the elevator or other area of the facility. As a result, there is a lot more weight bouncing around on those carts and that can cause damage to linoleum and ceramic tile floor surfaces.

Reason #3: Your commercial floors are significant investment.

As with most investments, you want to do whatever you can to protect it. While you don’t want to hamstring your clients and tenants, there are certain things you can do, including guiding them to service elevators or other loading and unloading portions of the facility where they won’t be doing damage to the main commercial floor area where the average client or general public will tend to use.
