Few school or hospital administrators think much about keeping the baseboards in their establishments clean. The maintenance crews have a broom, a vacuum, a mop, and maybe a buffer. Baseboards are just not something that they think about.
However, the baseboards can attract and trap a host of dirt, hair, dust, fur, and other foreign contaminants, causing the air in these hospitals, schools, and other establishments to be unhealthy.
What are baseboards?
Look around your building, along the sections where the floor meets the walls. You’ll see a strip of molding that runs along the bottom of the wall. Some moldings are more intricate or ornate than others. Most Canadian commercial buildings have simple, standard baseboards that don’t have a great deal of style to them.
They don’t need to have style because they are mostly functional. They create unity between the floor and walls and offer a small level of protection to the walls against accidental damage. Our feet, the bottom of chairs, cords, and a host of things bang into the baseboards on a regular basis and we just don’t notice it at the time.
Why are baseboards important to keep clean?
Dust, dirt, and other debris collect along the floor and into the corners of rooms. They also get pushed up against the baseboards when you’re vacuuming or mopping or doing any other type of floor cleaning.
So while the floor may be clean, that doesn’t mean that the entire room or corridor is as clean as it could be. Few maintenance crews will get down on their hands and knees to scrub the baseboards.
In order to ensure a proper clean in your establishment, you should have the right baseboard cleaner.
Centaur baseboard cleaners allow you to get a thorough clean throughout the entire building, along hallways and in the rooms that you’ll know will be healthier and safer. Whenever you don’t clean the baseboards, you allow dust and dirt and even allergens that get trapped there to be released every time they are vibrated or disturbed when people walk by.
