Keeping a commercial facility clean can take a lot of time, focus, and energy. It’s also going to require many man-hours. While you certainly can focus the vast majority of your resources, time, and energy just on the floors, it’s also important to pay attention to other parts, or spaces, of the facility.
Far too often, when you’re so focused on keeping the commercial floor surface of your facility clean, you may overlook the overhead ducts, moldings, drop ceiling, and much more. If you don’t keep all of these surfaces clean, it will have (not just might have) a direct impact on the floor surfaces.
Pay attention to the ductwork.
The heating and cooling ducts, vents, registers, and more can all trap dust. Over time, that dust begins getting thrown out over every other surface. It can land on the floors and even though you may have your maintenance department cleaning every night, if they don’t get every corner, along the baseboards, and more, it will start to look dirty.
Don’t forget ceiling fans.
If there are ceiling fans in place and they are used regularly, they can store a lot of dust, too. A simple light dusting at least once a week can help keep the ceiling fans from collecting too much dust, thus throwing it all down on other surfaces throughout the facility.
Shelving units.
This is especially a concern for commercial facilities like warehouses. If you have a lot of shelving units that are not cleaned regularly, dirt and dust will collect on them over time. This will not only degrade the quality of those surfaces, but it’s also going to increase the amount of dust that collects on the floor around the base of those shelving units.
These units need to be cleaned regularly in order to ensure the integrity of the entire commercial facility.
