Your office space may only be a few hundred square meters, and while you might feel keeping those floors clean is relatively simple, if you’re using a mop, it’s time to think again. A mop and bucket is a traditional way to clean floors, especially linoleum or ceramic tile floors, but it’s not only unsanitary, it is completely ineffective.
After the first scrubbing.
When you place a brand-new mop head on the floor with water and cleaning solution, it begins picking up dirt, fluids, and other foreign contaminants, and absorbs it into the fibers of a mop.
That means even though your collecting dirt, squeezing it out into the bucket, and the floors are looking cleaner, it’s not as sanitary as you might think. The water becomes dirty immediately, the mop head itself turns from white to a brownish residue color, and you are spreading the germs, bacteria, and other foreign matter across other areas of the floor.
But it looks great.
You may be insisting that everything is fine because those commercial floor surfaces look great. That may be true, but it’s not doing anything to protect you, your customers, or your business. It’s also not doing anything to benefit the floor surface itself.
The best way to go about commercial floors cleaning is to use the right equipment which includes a floor buffer, scrubber, and waxer. If you have a small office space, you can get an upright floor scrubber to do the job properly. It’s not a major investment, and when you get the right equipment it can last for many years.
You’ve probably realized that you have to change the mop head every week or every couple of weeks (at the most). That can cost quite a bit over the years. Instead, if you invest in the right commercial floor cleaning equipment, it can pay for itself year after year after year.
