There are a lot of things commercial business owners can learn from how homes are maintained that can be beneficial to maintaining the commercial facility in a clean and healthy manner. When you’re talking about commercial floors, it’s not advisable to use any type of residential cleaning machines, such as a residential vacuum cleaner, to clean a commercial floor, but there are certain tips that can be transferred from the house to a commercial facility.
Regular cleaning. Many homeowners vacuum and clean on a regular basis, usually once a week, at a minimum. Assuming that commercial floors can just be mopped every night and not thoroughly cleaned more than once a month is exposing the floor to more damage over the course of time.
Addressing stains right away. It may not seem practical to clean the stain up more thoroughly than just mopping it up when it happens, but any time a commercial business has the opportunity to address the stain when it happens, the more they helped protect the floor in the future. The longer a stain is allowed to remain on the floor, especially along the sides by baseboards, the more that staining material has an opportunity to work down deep, causing serious problems in time.
Paying attention to air quality. A homeowner who focuses on air quality will likely have his or her floors professionally cleaned on a regular basis. Even a small commercial business that doesn’t have its own maintenance department, that only mops every night and has the floors stripped and waxed once every six months may not be doing enough to protect their business, employees, and customers with regard to air quality.
It may be a good idea to look into an air purification system to help improve the cleanliness and air quality within that facility.
