Winter can be harsh on many surfaces.
When you’re talking about commercial floor surfaces, winter can wreak havoc on many different types, including rough concrete. If you have a commercial office space that you lease out, are managing a hospital, school, or other major commercial facilities that see a great deal of foot traffic, a lot of the people that have come and gone throughout the winter season have brought in sand, dirt, road salt, snow, and much more into the facility.
Your maintenance department may have done an awesome job keeping up with the regular cleaning, but that wear-and-tear and abuse is going to take a toll over time.
That’s why it’s a good idea, if possible, to have your maintenance department come in on a day off, when the facilities basically close down, or during extremely slow times of the day, which might be during the middle of the night.
You’ll want them to completely scrub down the floors, strip the wax surface, clean every corner, including baseboards cleaning, and then apply a new coat of wax.
This can take a tremendous amount of time. Your maintenance department may be dealing with a number of repairs and other work to keep your commercial facility in the best possible condition, and may not have the kind of time to devote to commercial floors as you’d like.
You may need to rework some of their hours for a few weeks or a month to make sure they have enough time to devote to those commercial floors. Just make the proper investment because when you protect them and keep those commercial floor surfaces clean and safe, it’s going to have a rippling effect throughout the entire facility and those who rely on that facility for their business and livelihood.
