Mohs hardness tester

Upon visiting a job site, you can determine the hardness of the stone with this test kit. You can also determine the type of stone what you are looking at with the accompanying acid in the bottle. These two items are the most important tools in your bag before you give and estimate. Because you must know the type of stone and its hardness before you give an estimate.

The scale was created in 1812 by the German mineralogist Friedrich Mohs

The tester consist of 8 different scratchers.

  • One of them with plastic point numbered 2;
  • One of them has copper point numbered 3;
  • The rest consist of variously hardened steel numbered from 4 to 9.
