You’ve just had some major construction work completed at your commercial property and as you look around, you’re thrilled with the work. However, it’s important to focus on cleaning up the rest of your property after that project is complete.
Depending on the type of work you’ve had done, if it’s anything involved with the interior portion of the building, sheet rock, sawdust, and just general dust will have gotten kicked up. You may have had plastic placed along the wall separating that part of the building from the rest of it, but it doesn’t mean all of that dust and debris isn’t getting into the rest of the building or blow in from outside winds and even the natural process of people moving and kicking the dust up.
Below are a few tips to help in that post construction cleanup.
1. Dust everything.
Once the construction is completed, dust everything in the building from top to bottom. This will include window trim, molding, ceiling fans, smoke detectors in the ceiling, walls, and everything else. Start from the top of every room and work your way down.
2. Vacuum.
Once everything has been dusted, vacuum the floors thoroughly. Vacuuming alone isn’t enough, though, so it’s a good idea to hire an experienced cleaning service to come in with professional floor cleaning machines.
3. Wash drapery, areas rugs, and everything else that could collect dust.
This may seem tedious, but you’ll appreciate it when you notice how clean your office building or other facility is following the construction completion.
If you’ve invested a significant amount of money on this improvement project, go a little bit further and get your maintenance department to thoroughly clean everywhere else.
